Invisalign® Invisible Braces

Let us put a smile on your face

What is Invisalign?

A smile can change everything

Your confidence. Your outlook. Your life. And with Invisalign, achieving the smile you always dreamed of doesn’t have to be a big deal. In fact, it barely has to impact your day-to-day life at all.

Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.

Comfortable, clear and removable – Invisalign transforms your smile without disrupting your life. Something that over 3 million people worldwide have already discovered.

Are you ready for your new smile?

Treatment process

An Invisalign Treatment Plan that is made for you

Before a treatment plan can be created, we will take an impression of your teeth to check whether they can be straightened using the Invisalign System. Once confirmed, a detailed treatment plan will then be developed using ClinCheck®, a virtual 3D treatment plan. ClinCheck shows the series of movements your teeth are projected to go through over the course of the treatment – so you can see how your teeth are expected to look at the end of your Invisalign treatment before it even begins. See our Step-by-Step Treatment Guide for further details.

Smiling every step of the way
When you begin your Invisalign treatment, you will wear each set of custom-made aligners in two-week increments. As you progress through the series of aligners, your teeth will begin moving, little by little, gradually moving towards the projected final position. During this time you will have regular check-ups in order to monitor your progress and ensure you are comfortable with the treatment.

Designed to fit your lifestyle
The time it takes to complete the treatment varies from person to person, depending on the complexity of each straightening issue. We will determine how Invisalign best suits your situation and goals, and agree the best way forward for you.

In when you want them in. Out when you don’t.
Invisalign aligners can be removed at any time during treatment, you can eat whatever you want, maintain good oral hygiene, and choose to remove them briefly for special occasions such as weddings or big meetings. Your lifestyle remains intact.

Look forward to your new smile.
Whatever the goals of your treatment plan, your we will always give you a clearly defined Treatment Plan. We will also show you what your teeth might look like during and after the treatment with ClinCheck – a virtual 3D treatment plan.

ClinCheck shows the series of movements your teeth are projected to go through over the course of the treatment. This enables you to see what your teeth are expected to look like when the treatment is finished and monitor changes as you go.

Can Invisalign work for you?

Invisalign® treats a range of straightening issues, ranging from minor tooth movements to more complex cases. Whatever the issue, the result is a new, more even smile that you will want everyone to see.

Here are some of the straightening issues that can be treated with Invisalign.

can-invisalign-work-01Overcrowded teeth occur when there is a lack of room within your jaw for all of your teeth to fit normally.

can-invisalign-work-02Widely spaced teeth occur when you have extra space within your jaw.

can-invisalign-work-03Cross bites occur when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned. It usually causes one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth, and can happen on both the front and/or the sides of the mouth.

can-invisalign-work-04Deep bites occur when the upper teeth overlap significantly with the lower teeth.

can-invisalign-work-05Under bites occur when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth, usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both.

How Invisalign works

Testimonials

Mikala’s story

One of my teeth really stuck out and I was absolutely paranoid about it. It was on my mind when speaking to somebody up close, when photographs were taken – I felt awful and wanted it fixed. But I thought I was too grown up for metal braces.

Mikala's story

I chose Invisalign because the aligners are clear. Nobody noticed I was wearing them and I liked that you could take them out to eat. I sent pictures to my friends throughout the treatment; they were amazed by how my teeth were changing and how good they looked.

“I wish I’d done it years ago”

The treatment gave me confidence from start to finish. I wish I’d done it years ago. You don’t realise how important your smile is. Invisalign has had a massive impact on my life: I smile confidently, I look better in photographs –my teeth aren’t an obsession anymore. The results were everything I imagined.

Kirsty’s story

I wanted to straighten my teeth. I didn’t like that they were crooked and overcrowded. As a result, I didn’t like my smile.

Kirsty's story

Because I wasn’t a teenager, I wanted a more discreet option than metal braces. I didn’t want to draw more attention to my teeth. With Invisalign, people didn’t even notice I had the aligners in until they could see that my teeth were moving. When I had the aligners fitted I liked how easy they were to insert and remove, and that I didn’t have to keep visiting my Orthodontist. They fitted my lifestyle.

“The Invisalign treatment has dramatically improved my confidence”

The Invisalign treatment has dramatically improved my confidence. I was always a happy, bubbly person but would try and hide my teeth. Now I love smiling. I would definitely recommend it to others. I wish I had done it sooner.

What will it cost?

A smile can help your confidence, self-esteem and happiness
We understand that price is a very important consideration. As with all orthodontic treatment, the cost of Invisalign is dependent on the specifics of your individual case: such as the complexity of your straightening issue and the required length of treatment. This means you will not receive an exact cost until you have your initial assessment with us.

As a general rule the cost is comparable to traditional fixed braces. Prices for Invisalign Full treatment in the majority of cases is £3950 and occasionally rises to £4450 for complex cases. However, if only one arch requires treatment with Invisalign Full the price is £2450 and if only minor tooth movement is required, Invisalign Lite prices start from £1950.

Invisalign Step-by-Step Treatment Guide

    1. Initial Assessment

A 15 minute appointment, with an initial discussion to ascertain what’s important to you and to examine your mouth to determine if Invisalign is the right treatment for you. We will also discuss what you can expect from the treatment, how long approximately it will take, what the end result will be and how much it will cost.

    1. Records Appointment

Once you’ve had the initial assessment and decide to go ahead with the treatment, an appointment will be made to have an x-ray and have your records taken. These include photographs and impressions of your teeth. The xray, photographs and impressions are needed to plan your treatment before we can proceed to the Clincheck process.

    1. Clincheck

Invisalign creates a virtual 3D simulation of your treatment, a schedule numbering the aligners needed and the final results at the end of treatment. At this appointment we will show you this computerised simulation of how your teeth will move and the final expected result (Clincheck) and we will always give you a clearly defined Treatment Plan. If you are happy to proceed. We then approve it for Invisalign to fabricate your aligners.

    1. Fitting Aligners

Invisalign sends us your aligners and we make an appointment to show you how to fit them and to give you all the necessary instructions and advice.

    1. Regular Monitoring visits

We will see you approximately every 6-8 weeks to evaluate the progress and deliver the next aligners.

    1. Finishing your treatment

Once you have worn all the aligners, we will evaluate if all treatment goals have been achieved and if you are happy with the results of treatment. Sometimes additional corrections and minor further adjustments can be made with further sets of aligners to refine your results.

Once your treatment is finished, we will take impressions to make removable retainers which will be ready after one week of your appointment. There is also the option of fixed retainers which we will place at the back of your tee.

The retainers are needed to hold your teeth in the new position and to prevent them from moving back into their original position.

    1. Review

You must wear your retainers after you finish your aligners to prevent your teeth from moving out of alignment again.

Six months after we remove your braces, we will review to ensure that everything is OK with your retainers.

    1. Additional Information

Some tooth movements would not occur with just the plastic aligner pushing on the teeth. Occasionally “attachments” are placed on the teeth in a strategic positions and with a specific design to move that tooth in the direction that was treatment planned.

In some cases, if the overcrowding of your teeth is mild, enamel stripping may be necessary to make room for the straightening of your teeth and therefore avoiding the removal of healthy natural teeth.

Both the application of attachments and stripping are virtually pain free. We will advise you at the Clincheck phase of your treatment if attachments and/or stripping will be necessary and when they at what stage occur.
